Sheet Music by composer, Thomas A. Dorsey (1899-1993), the Father of Gospel Music. Includes Precious Lord Take My Hand, There'll be Peace in the Valley and If We Ever Needed the Lord Before. For fifty years he served as Minister of Music at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Chicago. This church has been called the birthplace of Gospel music. Renown Gospel music artists who ministered at Pilgrim Baptist Church include Mahalia Jackson, Sallie Martin, Albertina Walker, James Cleveland, Aretha Franklin, The Edwin Hawkins Singers and The Staple Singers. The building that was once the ediface of Pilgrim Baptist Church is now the home of the National Museum of Gospel Music. Thomas A. Dorsey is also the founder of the National Convention of Gospel Choirs and Choruses.
